Handmade for Peggy in N.J.

Peggy lives in a stone home with a slate roof from Granville, N.Y., where my weekend camp is located.

The roof of the mailbox was made to compliment the two bay windows on the front of her home – which are copper clad with standing seams. The new mailbox finishes a complete front porch renovaton, which included new lamps, and flagstone steps.

This piece was great fun. Since I have done many bay window roofs, this was like working in minature.

I tend to rock a bit in the shop, and this piece took over eight albums.... Stones, Dylan, Steely Dan, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, The Who, Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead, and Billy Joel. Most twice!
