All copper birdfeeders are designed for ease of maintenance and quick birdseed filling. Out on your porch or property, the copper will soon develop to a wonderful patina (verdigris). This natural patina protects the piece against further corrosion and can allow a piece to remain totally useful for decades and decades. |

While a multitude of feeders - made from a variety of materials - are available from a multitude of sources, I am obliged to mention that copper birdfeeders are truly and uniquely a "green" and "ecological" choice. Being weather-durable, copper birdfeeders can become objects of memories for family and friends and passed down from generation-to-generation. Whether you are interested in having a feeder designed specifically for your yard, window, gardenscape or deck - or simply looking for a sure-to-be-treasured keepsake for a friend - I welcome your call regarding the feeders. Oftentimes I have some birdfeeders around the shop (already completed) which range from experiments on existing designs to totally new creations. These can often be purchased at a very reasonable price. I simply need the room in my small shop and playing too many of these out on the property can be counter-productive! Webster defines "pastime" as "something that amuses and serves to pass time agreeably." These past few years one of my favorite pastimes has been watching birds attacted to and having their fill on my feeders. I am continually coming up with new designs, some interesting concepts and rendering unique, custom copper and wood birdfeeders for folks all over the country. |

When creating my copper birdhouses, I like to use recycled/reused materials. Very often - instead of using a custom glass bulb or feed "container" - I use recycled plastics from just about anywhere from storm windows to liter soda bottles. In many cases, replacing these pieces (should they become cloudy or scratched from use) can be done on your own. The idea is simple. Most plastics would otherwise lay in a landfill for a few centuries or so. I rather like the idea that they serve a useful and practical part in my creations. I create birdhouses in copper, wood and a variety of other natural media.
