Arthur was very determined to find a rooster in a particular stance. He paid particular attention to whether the head would be looking up or forward. We traded a few sketches, sought outside advice, and met at a terrific pose. The head, body and tail designs came from three different birds.
This is also the first time I have used a hole to create the eye. It gives the same appearence from each side, and changes in color with the changes in weather. Blue sky, blue eyes. Arthur's vane nearly disappears when viewed head on.
