It has always been my strong intention to have vanes that do more than point into the breeze. Grandma is the perfect example. When I make a sailboat, I want to make the sails wave in the wind. I have a Piper Cub vane that flys up and down in the wind. I've made bannerettes that have 'tails' that sway when the wind moves them. I have also tried to bring this plan into my lamps, as shown in the Weathervane Lamp, which has an arrow on top that is a functioning vane, and directionals guilded on the glass. The Ice Dancer is a great example of combining a lamp with a weathervane, and using the wind to create motion. |
