I always invite people to "Think Unique!" Whether it's for the design of a wall sconce for a particular hall, Weathervanes are - in themselves - the greatest (and most rewarding) challenge at The Secret Copper Shop. Whether a smaller garden weathervane to be viewed up close or a gigantic store-top ornament to be seen from miles away, my copper weathervanes are about visibility and expression. |

I compiled this simple gallery simply to share some of the ideas that have come through The Secret Copper Shop in these past few years. Each involves a particular detail. Some of the weathervanes were intended to meet clients' visions - where they actually had plans drawn up to specific dimensions and very specific ornamentation. Others were more free-style renderings - pieces that grew from a simple idea that went wild, or a wilder vision that accomplished it's goal by being toned down. That is a part of my work that I truly enjoy... The old saying "It's not done until the fat lady sings" is pretty much the norm around here. The end of each of these custom weathervane projects are not truly realized until they reached their final destinations - whether that was a boat dock, the roof of a firehouse, a favorite garden, a home's deck or patio, or the top a local business building. |
